“Pop up Water point” is an object born during the
"Šilainiai [Rubbish] Project" in Kaunas Eighth Fort. It
aims to reveal the waste problem: the garbage collected
during the litter clean up were converted into the new
objects. In this way, the potential of the discarded waste
was reassessed and revealed.
The construction of the rain collector was chosen as an
interpretation of a historical and functional meeting
point, i.e. a well. The object is integrated into the
existing urban gardening and information point. It serves
as a landmark and provides a minimal weather protection.
